But a TV just displaying a music visualizer doesn't read as an actual light show either. There's a gap between "nothing" and "renting real laser equipment."

A projector and a cheap haze machine fill that gap
Point a projector through a small haze machine and DeckBeam's beam patterns cut through the room just like a real laser show — no laser diode, no lighting rig, no calibration. A basic haze machine runs well under what an actual laser fixture costs. Don't have one handy? DeckBeam also mirrors straight to your TV over AirPlay for a simpler beat-reactive visual, no haze required.
It reacts to the room
Whatever's playing through your speakers, DeckBeam hears it
DeckBeam listens through your phone's microphone, so it works with whatever's already playing — a Bluetooth speaker, a soundbar, a full stereo. There's no line-in, no special connection to your music source. If people in the room can hear it, DeckBeam reacts to it.
